The Ridge Golf Course, previously named Whispering Oaks Golf & Country Club, is a Semi-Private, 18 hole golf course located in Ridge Manor, Florida
Whispering Oaks Golf & Country Club first opened for play in 1954 with nine holes. The course was designed by Hans Schmeisser. In 1958 Willie Ogg added nine new holes and redesigned the original nine.
This course is tight on the front "Oaks" nine, with narrow fairways hugged by hundred-year-old oaks and a "Dunes" nine that is open with waste bunkers and links-style grasses that border the fairways. Water hazards (ponds) come into play on five holes.
The signature hole is #17, a 401-yard, par 4, requiring a tee shot up a dogleg left fairway, then an approach to a green protected by water in front and deep sand bunkers on both sides.
The course measures 6,712 yards from the tips and plays to a par of 72 . There are 4 sets of tees to accommodate golfers of all skill levels.
